It’s official: my life is a mess. As if being a single mom of a baby isn’t hard enough, I’m now stranded at my friend’s house, miles away from the hospital where I was headed.
Though I hate asking for help, I have no choice. I’ve got a daughter to look after, and a car that needs fixing.
And when help arrives in the form of sexy mechanic Blair, I wonder if maybe relying on other people isn’t so bad after all.
With biceps that jumpstart my heart and send sparks to places I forgot existed, Blair is my knight in blue collar armor. And eventually, I give into the instalust that hits the minute we lock eyes.
But what was supposed to be a forced proximity fling turns into something that feels dangerously like instalove.
A love neither of us is prepared for.

But she comes with a family and responsibilities of her own.
And I’ve only just stopped being the head of a household.
Am I ready to give up my uncomplicated life? And even if I did, am I good enough to be partner to Missy and father to her daughter, or are they better off on their own?
